OFFERTORY COLLECTION December 12, 2010: $3,296.00 - Thank you! The weather last weekend provided a perfect example of how things do not always go as planned. Since many people could not get to church, Jesse Tree symbols were not picked up, Christmas Memorial donations were not received, “Coins for Cribs” and food donations were minimal. This is the weekend to make it all happen. It is never too late to give to the parish or the needy. To make our campus more accessible, the mounds and piles of snow must be removed. Our snow removal costs are going to be gigantic. Increased contributions for the next month or so will be greatly appreciated! |
ADVENT VESPERS - Please join us to pray Vespers (Evening Prayer) TODAY, December 19 at Holy Cross Church. Prayer begins at 2:30 PM. Help prepare yourself to welcome Christ into your heart more deeply by participating in this prayer of the Church. |
“COINS FOR CRIBS” the annual Advent outreach project at Holy Cross. $20.00 was collected this past week. Thank you & God bless. |
YOUTH ENVELOPES - The 2011 contribution envelopes for students in grades 1-11 are available for pick up in the vestibule of the Church. |
FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. This Sunday is the fourth and final Sunday of the Advent Season. Our Gospel contains the account of the Annunciation when Gabriel came to Mary to reveal that she would conceive and be the mother of the Son of God, the Messiah. This Gospel reveals God’s intention to come near to us, into our very midst, to heal us, save us, and draw us to himself. We must never doubt that God loves and cares for us in light of this wondrous event. Mary was overwhelmed and humbled by this immense gesture by God toward us. May we also allow ourselves to be overwhelmed and humbled by this loving act of our God. Let these final Advent days be ones of seeking to let God come to us anew, and of preparing our gift of love for Him for Christmas. May this coming weekend’s masses for Christmas be a real time of renewal of love and faith for us all to enable us to stride into the new year with confidence and peace of heart. I pray that all our families will be touched by the wonder of God’s love which we will be celebrating on Christmas and find many graces in our homes and parishes as a result. A Merry and Blessed Christmas to you all! Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |
Please remember Holy Cross Parish as 2010 draws to a close. Your increased generosity during the Christmas season is needed and appreciated. |
