FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS…..

Our Gospel this Fourth Sunday of Advent is that of the Annunciation.  Gabriel brought the good news to Mary that she would be mother of the savior of humankind yet remain a virgin after as before.  Her dedicated love for God and accompanying holiness made her the chosen one in the eyes of God to be worthy to be the mother of God’s son.  As we prepare to celebrate the great feast of our savior’s birth on Christmas next weekend, let us renew our desire to love God wholeheartedly after the example of Mary.  This would be the greatest gift that we could give to Jesus on his birthday.  A well prepared confession for Christmas that brings to mind any failures in love, for God and the people around us, would be a great way to begin to make a gift to Jesus for his birthday.  The confession schedule of extra opportunities for confession besides Saturday afternoons is listed below.  May Christmas be a time of great renewal for us all.  Mary our Mother, pray for us.

Advent confessions in addition to the usual weekend confession times in our tri-parishes are as follows -

St. Hedwig: Wednesday Dec. 21, 6:30 - 7:30 PM and Thursday Dec. 22, 9:00 - 9:45 AM before morning mass.

St. Anthony: - Tuesday Dec. 20, 6:00 - 7:30PM following Perpetual Help Devotions.

 Holy Cross: Wednesday, Dec. 21, 6:00 - 8:00 PM, also following 6:45 AM morning masses Tuesday-Thursday Dec. 20-23, and Saturday, Dec. 24 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM.

ADVENT VESPERS…..Dec. 18th at St. Hedwig 3;00 PM with refreshments following. Help prepare yourself to welcome Christ into your heart more deeply by participating in this prayer of the church.
