“COINS FOR CRIBS” is an Advent outreach project at Holy Cross.  As we prepare to celebrate

Jesus’ Birth at Christmas, our parish will again collect coins during Advent that will be used to buy baby cribs.  The money collected will be given to “Cradle of Hope,” a non- profit organization that works with mothers and infants in crisis.  All coins received in the weekly collection plate will be given to this project.  Bring extra coins to Church.  If you prefer to give dollars or a check, put your gift in an envelope marked “Cradle of Hope.”  The first week of Advent we collected $73.00   Thank you!

Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

This weekend we hear the voice of John the Baptist calling out to prepare the way of the Lord in the hearts of the people that they might receive him in spirit. As we continue through our journey of Advent toward Christmas, John’s message is important for us right now. Pray to enter into the spirit of this season of the Church’s year to be better able to feel the importance of Jesus’ birth. Mary will help anyone who wants to come closer to her son Jesus, just as all mothers want others to like and appreciate their children.

Confession is also part of spiritual preparation for a great Christian feast day. It is a way to hold ourselves accountable for how we are loving God and other people. This week is our Lady’s Feast of the Immaculate Conception. At mass on Tuesday the 8th lift up yourself and all your family in prayer before the Blessed Mother that she would in turn offer her prayers for your family to her son Jesus, our Lord and King.

The Advent Vespers Services that are offered in four different churches in Northeast each Advent are wonderful opportunities to experience the spiritual reality of this season of preparation of the soul to meet its Lord in love. The Second Vesper Service will be this Sunday at All Saints at 3:00 PM. Come and worship and prepare for the coming of the king!

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor
