MUSIC FOR CHRISTMAS - The English Choir will have rehearsals for Christmas on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on December 8 (after Polish Mass), 15, 22 and 10:30 PM December 24.  We invite you to join our loyal choir members to make this a festive Advent and Christmas.  Chris Brand - Organist & Choirmaster

Text Box: HOLY CROSS 125th ANNIVERSARY

In 4 weeks we will begin the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Holy Cross Parish.  The 4:30 PM Mass on Saturday, January 1, 2011 will mark the beginning of our anniversary year.

The first events planned are:

Sunday, January 9 - “Kick Off” Coffee & Donuts

Saturday, January 29 - “Family Game Night”
for parents and children
4:30 Mass, food & “125 Minutes” of games.
Watch for sign-up.  Bring your favorite game!

Saturday, February 19 - Cana Celebration
for Married Couples!

CHRISTMAS BASKETS -  We are now collecting items for the Christmas food baskets.  Please share a can of soup, vegetables, fruit, etc.  Please make sure to check the expiration date on the food  and do not bring open boxes or bags.  We also need gifts for adults and children - clothes, games, toys, etc.  Any money received will be used for hams, potatoes, bread and others items for the baskets.

Please join us in Kolbe Hall for our Bake & Craft Sale, St. Nick (on Sunday), Oplatki, Children’s Santa Shop for ages 12 and under, raffles and more after the 4:30, 8:00, 10:00 and 11:30 Masses.

ENGLISH ALTAR & ROSARY GUILD MEETING - The English Altar and Rosary Guild will meet on Monday, December 13th.  Please bring your items for the Cancer Home to this meeting.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT AND BAKE SALE - The St. Anthony of Padua Women’s Guild will hold their Christmas Craft and Bake Sale in the Atrium of Catholic Eldercare (817 Main St. N.E.) on Saturday, Dec.11 from 3:00-7:00 PM and Sunday, Dec. 12 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  It will include a variety of Home Baked Goods and craft items as well as “Toni’s Attic Treasures.”

RETIREMENT FUND HELPS SENIOR RELIGIOUS - “As expenses continue to increase and economic difficulties tighten our income, we appreciate more and more the help of the Retirement Fund,” notes a woman religious.  Your tax deductible donation to the Retirement Fund for Religious supports day-to-day care of thousands of elder sisters, brothers, and religious order priests.  Please Share in the Care and give generously to next week’s collection.  Envelopes for this special collection are in the monthly packet you receive in the mail.

FAMILY HOLY HOUR - Join other families from our diocese for a Family Holy Hour next Sunday, December 12th at Holy Cross.  Father Joseph Menker will lead the Holy Hour - a special afternoon of music, prayer, Adoration, Benediction and reflection.  Confessions start at 2:15 PM and Adoration at 3:00 PM.  Bring a snack to share!  Families should enjoy fellowship in Kolbe Hall after prayer.
