WELCOME TO HOLY CROSS CHURCH - Holy Cross Church would like to welcome all visitors and anyone who has recently moved into our community.  We are proud of our parish and invite you to join us.  To register or to have questions answered, please contact the parish office at 612-789-7238.

‘COINS FOR CRIBS” is an annual Advent outreach project at Holy Cross.  As we prepare to celebrate the Christ’s birth at Christmas, our parish will again collect coins during Advent that will be used to purchase baby cribs.  The money collected will be given to “Cradle of Hope” - a non profit organization that works with mothers and infants in crisis.  All coins received in the weekly collection plate will be given to the project.  Bring extra coins to Church.  If you prefer to give dollars or a check, put your gift in an envelope marked “Cradle of Hope.”  Thank you!  This past week we collected $81.00.

FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..

John the Baptist in our Gospel this Sunday urges the people to prepare the way of the Lord.  He calls on them, and us, to make straight the way of the Lord in our hearts to be able to receive him with joy when he comes in power to judge the nations.

During this season of Advent the Church reiterates this call of the Baptist by encouraging time for special prayer, use of the Sacrament of Confession and special services like our Advent Vespers, to help us strengthen our life of prayer to be better able to love and serve Jesus with all our heart.  Let us strive to focus on the wonder of love that God shows by coming among us to save us and to show us the depth of his love for us.  This will warm the heart of our faith and enable us to have a gift for the Lord in our heart for Christmas.

May St. John the Baptist pray for us as we strive to prepare the way of the Lord in our hearts.  Pray on brothers and sisters!
