HELP FOR LOW-INCOME PEOPLE - Low income working families may be eligible to receive additional income from two tax credits - the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit and the Minnesota Working Family Credit.  These two tax credits are designed to increase income for working families.

¨ Families with two or more children are eligible if they earned less than $39,783 in 2007.

¨ Families with one child are eligible if they earned less than $35,241.

¨ Individuals with no children who earned less than $14,590 are also eligible.

At least part of the income must be from a job.  No special paperwork or application forms needed - all they have to do is file their federal and Minnesota income tax returns.  But first they have to know about the credits.  For more information call Catholic Charities Office for Social Justice at 612-664-8500.
