2004 RETIREMENT FUND
FOR THE RELIGIOUS

Approximately 139 religious communities throughout the country have the capacity to pay less than 20% of their projected health care and retirement costs. Another 314 groups find themselves anywhere from 20 to 80% funded. Yet all of these religious demonstrate great trust in enabling the movement of the Spirit as they carry out their tasks with faithfulness and hope - even as they age. They maintain energy for their ministries as they also struggle to meet their responsibility for their older and ill members. Religious are some of the prophets of today, urging us all to recognize the needs of those with whom we live. While they face challenging circumstances, thousands of religious women and men continue their many and diverse ministries so that others may have a better quality of life.

Now in its 17th year, the Retirement Fund for Religious once again asks for your help which you have given so generously in the past. The weekend of December 11-12 a special collection will be take up at all Masses to respond to this need. As in the past, almost 96% of your gifts will be distributed to those groups most in need at this time. They count on your generosity and offer their prayerful thanks.
