CATHOLIC CAMPAING FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT - These days it is not hard to imagine having to choose between rent or health care, food or transportation, household bills or clothing for your children.  For many Americans, these choices are forced by a recent layoff, pay freeze, or retirement fund decrease.  For 37 million Americans who live below the poverty line, the options are only diminishing.  The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) makes a difference in low-income communities by funding programs that address the root causes of poverty.  More than ever, CCHD needs your support in today’s Collection.  Thank you for your generosity.

PRAYER SHAWL - You are invited to join us - all skills are needed (sew, crochet, knit, fleece tie, sewing labels).  We meet on Tuesday, November 24th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Library.  If you would like to work at home, just stop by a meeting to see the shawls and get copies of prayers, patterns/ideas and size guidelines.  For more information contact the Parish Office at 612-789-7238 or Mary at 612-379-4090.

PEACE MASS - Holy Cross will be the host of the next Peace Mass on Wednesday, November 25th.  Rosary at 6:30 PM; Mass at 7:00 PM.  Receive a copy of the message given to the Blessed Virgin Mary at Medjugorje on the 25th of every month.

Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

This weekend we conclude the Church’s liturgical year with the great feast of Christ the King. We do not see Christ reigning in glory now on earth, as he is in heaven. But we honor the fact that he is truly Lord of life, only he can heal in this life and give us eternal life after we die. He truly died on the cross. His grave was found to be empty and he was seen by many of his disciples thereafter. He sent the Holy Spirit from the Father to transform his frightened apostles into men of zeal to spread the Gospel even to the point of giving their lives to spread that good news of his power to give life everlasting. Truly, Christ is our great king, only he offers life that never ends. Praised be Jesus Christ the only true king.

This week we give thanks for the many gifts we have in our lives, especially our very lives and those of our loved ones. If you are not traveling or laboring in the kitchen to prepare the feast, I encourage you to come to worship and give thanks to God by celebrating with the Lord at his table as well. And may everyone in our tri-parish have a blessed, safe and wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Advent Vespers begin next Sunday, November 29. The first vespers will be at St. Anthony Church at 3:00 PM. Come and enter the spirit of the Season of Advent to help prepare for Christmas in your heart.

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor

“COINS FOR CRIBS” is an Advent outreach project here at Holy Cross.  As we prepare to celebrate the Birth of the Baby Jesus at Christmas, our parish will again collect coins during Advent that will be used to buy baby cribs.  The money collected will be given to “Cradle of Hope” - a non profit organization that works with mothers and infants in crisis.  All coins received in the weekly collection plate will be given to this project.  Bring extra coins to Church.  If you prefer to give dollars or a check, put your gift in an envelope marked “Cradle of Hope.”  Thank you!
