CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT - Today, we take up a collection that  helps fight poverty at its roots.  For 40 years, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development has provided funding for groups that make lasting change and lift up the poor in the United States.  The collection has helped secure funding for low-income day care centers, legal advocacy to enforce fair wages, programs that emphasize education, and affordable housing in low-income neighborhoods.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION

FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..

This Sunday is Christ the King Sunday, which concludes the Church’s liturgical year.  As we end the church year, we focus on what faith in Jesus is all about, securing salvation for life everlasting.  Jesus is Lord of life, here and here after.  He died and rose from the dead and has the power to offer life after death to us by his power as God.  If we accept him as Lord of our lives, he will take us to himself, as we read in our Gospel this Sunday with the Good Thief on Calvary.

As we prepare for Advent next week and new beginnings, praying for a spirit of trusting dependence on Jesus’ power as Lord would be a powerful way to begin the new church year, and to obtain many blessings from our Lord Jesus in the face of our challenges, personal, in our families, our church, and our country.  Jesus our Lord, come to us in power!

‘COINS FOR CRIBS” is an annual Advent outreach project at Holy Cross.  As we prepare to celebrate the Christ’s birth at Christmas, our parish will again collect coins during Advent that will be used to purchase baby cribs.  The money collected will be given to “Cradle of Hope” - a non profit organization that works with mothers and infants in crisis.  All coins received in the weekly collection plate will be given to the project.  Bring extra coins to Church.  If you prefer to give dollars or a check, put your gift in an envelope marked “Cradle of Hope.”  Thank you!

WELCOME TO HOLY CROSS CHURCH - Holy Cross Church would like to welcome all visitors and anyone who has recently moved into our community.  We invite you to become members of our parish.  If you are interested in joining our parish or have questions, please contact the parish office at 612-789-7238.
