Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

In a variety of ways, the Department of Homeland Security seeks to be prepared for the unexpected. Groups like the American Red Cross hold emergency preparedness drills for their staff and volunteers. Local, state, and federal officials are on the watch for a host of possible tribulations, from forest fires to hurricanes, from man-made disasters to unexpected (but likely) natural events.

A person can buy insurance to protect them from the effects of practically any unwelcome outcome, from a car accident to trip cancellation, to health problems. We even have “life” insurance which curiously is paid out at a person’s death!

None of these preparations, and no insurance, will guard us at the return of the Lord. Only our faithful service and our witness to Christ will make a difference.

TO ALL SENIORS - You are invited to join us at our Annual Mass and Dinner on Friday, December 1st at 10:30 a.m. in Kolbe Center.  Cost is $10.00 and reservations are necessary.  Please call 612-789-9168 (preferably evenings) to make your reservation.  Deadline is Monday, November 27.

THE POLISH HOLY NAME SOCIETY will be selling Pierogi today after all Masses in Kolbe Center.

THE ENGLISH HOLY NAME would like to thank everyone who made their Turkey Bingo last weekend a success.  We appreciate the support.

CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT - When we hear that 37 million Americans live in poverty - that many families are two paychecks away from becoming poor themselves - are we overwhelmed? Paralyzed?  We can make a difference.  We can give a hand up to people struggling to change their lives and communities.  The Catholic Campaign for Human Development supports self-help projects of poor and low-income people working together to break the cycle of poverty.  Please give generously.

THE PARISH OFFICE will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 23 to Sunday, Nov. 26 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  The office will reopen on Monday, November 27.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LORRAINE SIMINSKI who is celebrating her 80th birthday this weekend at the 10:00 a.m. Mass.  God bless Lorraine and her family!
