FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..

This is the Sunday before Christ the King Sunday which concludes the Church’s liturgical year.  Our Lord speaks of the end times in the Gospel.  Jesus gives his listeners reason for confidence in those trying times through persevering in their faith which will secure their lives.

We are in trying times in our parishes now as we enter this process of restructuring in our Archdiocese.  We all seek assurance that there is a future for us.  I am being made aware that our appeals are being heard.  What was said in our parish meetings has also been heard.  I have real hope that we might be able to hear something, something that will be put into writing, within the next few weeks.

The Church is the household of God, and his spirit does work for the good of the Church.  I place great trust in the guiding power of God in the Church.  How this process may develop in the coming weeks I cannot say for sure, and I know that this will not comfort everyone.  But by persevering in faith and patience together, there is cause for hope for this situation to become something which will better serve the needs of everyone involved.

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor

CAMPAGIN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT - Next week, November 20 and 21 we will take up the Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). CCHD was founded 40 years ago by the bishops of the United States when they realized that the lives of those in need would not improve until the systems and policies that keep people in poverty were changed. For 40 years, CCHD has funded community groups that seek justice and create lasting change. Fight poverty in America. Defend human dignity. Give to the CCHD Collection.
