Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

The poor widow in our Gospel this Sunday has given more to the Lord than the large gifts from wealthier people, although theirs will accomplish more in our eyes. Jesus does not devalue the large gifts of those blessed with many resources. But he recognizes the love for God that it takes for someone who is very poor to be willing to give anything at all when they have so little to get by on. He sees the motives of the heart. The motives of our heart provide all the luster that our gifts will ever need to be worthy and pleasing in God’s sight. Have you thought of trying to delight the Lord by how you will be generous and to whom in the new day?

This week we honor our veterans who served this country in its armed forces on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11th. God bless all of the members of our parishes who have served this country in her armed forces to protect and preserve her freedom.

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor

FAMILY HOLY HOUR - Family Holy Hour TODAY, Sunday, November 8 at Holy Cross.  Father Michael Skluzacek, Pastor of St John the Baptist in New Brighton will lead the Holy Hour - a special afternoon of music, prayer, Adoration, Benediction and reflection.  Confessions start at 2:15 PM and Adoration at 3:00.  Bring a snack to share! Families should plan to enjoy fellowship in Kolbe Hall after prayer.

USCCB NATIONWIDE BULLETIN INSERT - Last weekend you received a special bulletin insert from the US Bishop Conference asking you to please contact your Representative and Senators immediately and urge them to fix these bills with pro-life amendments.  The bulletin insert included a web address that allows you to send an email message to Congress with a click of a button.  The Bishops have asked for our swift action and the commitment of our prayers for this critical effort.  Thank you for your help. We can help make sure that health care reform will be about saving lives, not destroying them.  Additional inserts are at the doors of the church.

AS ALL SOULS DAY IS OBSERVED and we remember all who have passed away this past year, please pray for another Holy Cross parishioner who went to her eternal rest:  Juliann Siminski - June 15, 2009.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE

and have gone before us marked with the
