CHRISTMAS SHOW - Enjoy an evening attending the Bobby Vinton Christmas Show on December 10 at Hinckley Casino Motel Theater.  Cost is $50 per person and includes transportation and ticket.  Leave Holy Cross at 4:30 PM.  For information call Joan at 612-379-4488.  Limited seating.  All reservations and payments due by November 21.

CHRISTMAS WREATHS - Pope John Paul II School/NERO Boosters will be selling Christmas Wreaths: 24” wreath with bow $15.00 and 24” wreath with bow and cones $16.50.  Buy a wreath and your name will be entered for a door prize - a $25.00 Cub Gift Card.  To order please call Renee at 612-781-3242, Greg at 612-789-5714 or Bob at 612-991-7212.  You will be able to pick up your wreath at the Christmas Bazaar on December 4th and 5th in Kolbe Hall.  Proceeds support athletics at Pope John Paul II Catholic School.

HOLY CROSS TURKEY BINGO - The Holy Cross Holy Name will host a “Turkey and Cash Bingo” on Sunday, November 14 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in Kolbe Hall.  All are welcome.  Refreshments will be available.

FAMILY HOLY HOUR - Join other families from our diocese for a Family Holy Hour next Sunday, November 14th at Holy Cross.  Father Michael Skluzacek, Pastor of St. John the Baptist in New Brighton, will lead the Holy Hour - a special afternoon of music, prayer, Adoration, Benediction and reflection.  Confessions start at 2:15 PM and Adoration at 3:00 PM.  Bring a snack to share!  Families should enjoy fellowship in Kennedy Hall after prayer.

COFFEE & DONUT SUNDAY - Next Sunday, Nov. 14th will be Coffee and Donut Sunday.  Stop down after the 8:00 and 10:00 AM Masses in Kolbe Center and enjoy coffee, donuts and visit with fellow parishioners.  Everyone is welcome.

DATE CHANGE FOR BAPTISM CLASS  This month’s Baptism Class for parents of children preparing for baptism has been changed to Thursday, November 11th instead of Tuesday, November 9th because the Strategic Plan Meeting scheduled for that night.  Must be registered.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST - The Exchange Club of East Minneapolis 42nd Annual Pancake Breakfast TODAY, November 7, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM in Kolbe Hall.  Pancakes, sausages, juice, coffee and milk.  Adults $6.00 and $4.00 for children 12 and under.  Proceeds benefit N.E. Minneapolis Youth and Senior Programs.

In 2011 we will celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Holy Cross Parish.  Events are being planned so watch the bulletin for more information.  Next planning meeting is Wednesday, November 10, 6:30 PM in the Pioneer Room.

TURKEY RAFFLE - Saint Cyril’s Slovak Men’s Club Turkey Raffle on Friday, November 19th at 7:00 PM St. Cyril’s Church basement, corner of 13th Avenue and Second St. N.E.  Donation $1.00 at the door $2.00.  Cash drawing, games, refreshments.  Handicap accessible. 

ADVENT RETREAT - St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, MN, is hosting an Advent Retreat on December 10-12, 2010, on the topic “The Parables of Jesus - Part 2.”  The retreat will be preached by Abbot John Klassen, OSB, and is open to everyone, even if you did not attend Part 1.  The retreat starts with dinner on Friday at 6:00 PM and concludes after lunch on Sunday at 1:00 PM.  The cost is $180 for a single room and $290 for a double room ($145 per person).  To register for the Advent Retreat, contact the Spiritual Life Office at 320-3636-3929, e-mail us at spirlife@osb.org, or on line at www.abbeyguesthouse.org/retreats
