THOUGHTS…..

November is final month of the Church’s year and, beginning with All Saints Day and All Souls Day, we focus on the final realities of life, our passing from this world to the next.

Jesus says in our Gospel that God “is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all are alive to him.”  God gives us the promise of eternal life with him through faith in Jesus his son.  This Jesus is with us now in our prayer, worship, and godly living.  Our intimacy with Jesus will help us as we move through the weeks ahead as the Church deals with the process of restructuring.

Appeals have gone in from many parishes around the archdiocese and from some of our northeast merger parishes as well, as the process itself allows for.  In the days ahead we will make sure that the special nature and circumstances of our Northeast parishes is clearly understood through dialogue with our Archdiocesan leadership.  In prayerful dialogue we can accomplish many things and help to ensure the brightness of the future of the church in our Archdiocese by ensuring its healthy future right here.  We need to pray for the church and about this process every day.
