POLISH SOUP FESTIVAL - The Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota presents their 22nd Annual Polish Soup Festival on Sunday, November 6 from 3:00 to 5:30 PM in Kolbe Hall.  Tickets available at the door.  $12/$10 PACIM members and $6 for children.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST - The East Minneapolis Exchange Club Annual Pancake Breakfast TODAY, Sunday, Nov. 6th from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Holy Cross Kolbe Center.  Pancakes (all you can eat), sausage, juice, coffee or milk.  Adults $6.00, Children under 12 $4.00.  Proceeds donated to various charities.

HELP OUR KIDS - Help Our Kids WIN “A Power a Bright Future Grant” to help our school Science Lab and playground.  All you need to do is Vote online at www.PowerABrightFuture.com - search for Pope John Paul II Catholic School - Minneapolis, MN or text 675383 to 44144 and vote one time every day  thru December 9.  You must be a US Citizen and at least 13 years old.  Thank you for your vote.

FOOD FOR THE NEEDY - Help us remember those who are hungry and in need of food.  You can bring your food donations when you come to Church or to the Rectory during the week.  The food will be used for Thanksgiving Baskets.  Please make sure to check the expiration date on the food and do not bring open boxes or bags.  Cash donations will also be accepted and used for turkeys, bread, etc.

HOLY CROSS TURKEY BINGO - The Holy Cross Holy Name will host a “Turkey and Cash Bingo” on Sunday, November 13 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in Kolbe Center.  All are welcome. Refreshments will be available.

COFFEE & DONUT SUNDAY - Next Sunday, November 13th will be Coffee & Donut Sunday.  Stop down after the 8:00 and 10:00 AM Masses in Kolbe Center and enjoy coffee, donuts and visit with fellow parishioners.  Everyone is welcome.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON THE NEW ROMAN MISSAL Tuesday, November 17, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Church, New Brighton - 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.  This is an open call to all those who were not able to attend a meeting on the New Roman Missal or still have questions and concerns about the new translation and how it will affect the Mass.  The new translation will begin on the First Sunday of Advent, November 27.  Our panel will speak on the following topics:

· A brief historical catechesis on the Roman Missal.

· Reasons behind the new translation.

· How the music has been affected

· What is our hope as we move forward. 

 

After the presentations, there will be time for questions and clarification.  Everyone is welcome to attend!
