Text Box: MAY SHE REST IN PEACE

May God grant Helen Lazinski
eternal peace and may the Angels
of Heaven lead her to Paradise.
Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord which concludes the Church’s season of Christmas. In our Gospel we hear of the Lord being baptized by John in the Jordan, which we reflect on when we pray the First Luminous Mystery of the Rosary. Jesus had no need for baptism, being God himself, and yet he received it from John the Baptist to consecrate himself for his saving ministry for humanity. In baptism we are consecrated to love and serve our brothers and sisters, both in the Church, and all others. In this we live out the call to holiness that we receive in becoming children of God through baptism.

As the water used in the Sacrament of Baptism symbolizes the cleansing power of the Holy Spirit, it also reminds us that water refreshes and helps all things grow. May the grace received in our own baptism help us to be refreshed and to grow in holiness that we may shine in the world and lead others to Christ. May all in the Church become beacons to draw others to Christ.

CHRISTMAS THANKS - For anyone who still has not received a note of thanks from me for your kindness to me for Christmas, I am still working on getting them out. In case I miss anyone who sent a card or gift, please accept my thanks here in the bulletin. There were many cards and I was so very touched by everyone’s warm wishes and gestures of support.

God bless you all in the New Year!

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor
