FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. As we prepare for All Saints Day this week, our readings speak of the need for humility. St. Paul speaks of how gentle he was when he served the people in Thessalonica in the second reading. Clergy and all in positions of power need to keep this in mind as they serve the people. All people who serve in positions with authority can fall into the trap of using authority and the power that comes from it in a way that is commanding or demanding upon the people. We need to pray, as St. Paul says elsewhere, for those in power that we may live in peace and tranquility. The holiness of the saints is something we all need to avoid falling into the traps and deceptions of Satan who seeks to derail us from witnessing for God in our daily dealings with others. Please note the schedule for masses for All Saints Day this week in our tri-parishes in the bulletin . Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |
