Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

After eluding the Pharisees’ attempt to trap him into an incriminating statement in last week’s Gospel reading, this Sunday, the Pharisees are reduced to simply asking him which is the most important commandment of the law of God. Jesus’ response is that you must love God with your whole heart and soul, and then he adds, and your neighbor as yourself. Compassion toward others is the requirement of love for God. Our concern for others’ needs, especially toward the most vulnerable, will the measure that the Lord uses to judge our lives at the end of time. May our Lady enable us to open our hearts to an effective concern for those who are in need and cannot help themselves, the truly underprivileged, frail elderly, and the unborn. All of these may be unseen by us, but are always in God’s sight and on his heart. May they also be on our hearts.

Next Saturday is the Solemn Feast of All Saints Day. Because it falls on a Saturday, the obligation is dispensed, though the feast remains on that day and will be celebrated. We will have one mass at all three parishes next Saturday morning for All Saints Day. Come and celebrate our heroes in faith.
