Sunday Collection - $6,210.96

Thank you!

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY - “Celebrate the  Hope that Saves”.  Today, we join with Catholics around the world, in this Eucharistic celebration, to fulfill our call to share our Christian faith with the world.  We are gathered around God’s Word and the Table of the Lord to be fed for the journey of bringing good news to the poor, healing to the sick and most vulnerable, and welcoming the stranger.  We join in a special worldwide collection for the Propagation of Faith to “celebrate the hope that saves”  and support the young and developing churches in over 120 countries.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION - Grow closer to JESUS by visiting HIM in the Adoration Chapel.  Prayer is directing our love to Jesus.  It is a devout and friendly talk with HIM.  Prayer is also a plea for our daily necessities for our daily living.  Finally prayer is love and thanksgiving to JESUS.  He is calling you for an hour of prayer.

Open hours: Monday 9 AM; 1:00 PM; Tuesday Noon;  Wednesday 9 AM and 7 PM.

For information call: 763-784-1317 or 612-781-4806.

FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS…..

In our Gospel this Sunday the Lord Jesus gives us the two greatest commandments, to love God with your whole being and your neighbor as yourself.  Love does no harm to anyone and thus fulfills the law of God.  We are called as Christians to follow the example of Jesus and bring truth and love to everyone around us.  Simple as this may sound, it demands a great deal from each of us to strive to overcome our personal weaknesses and sinfulness in order to be able to love unconditionally.  Before we can bring the love of God to others we must be able to be loving with those closest to us, especially our family and coworkers.

The changes in the wording of the mass that will be introduced in Advent will cause us to focus on what we say in prayer during worship.  As we focus on what we are saying to God in church, it can help us to find deeper meaning in our prayers and help us to grow in our understanding of God and ourselves.  May the upcoming season of Advent help us to begin a time of spiritual renewal that will help us in turn to bring Christ to others more effectively.

May our Lady, Mother of the Church, pray for us.

There will be classes on the Liturgical changes in each of our parishes on the following dates: Thursday, Oct. 27th at 7:00 PM at St. Hedwig, Saturday, Oct. 29th at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony, Thursday, Nov. 3rd at 7:00 PM at Holy Cross.  Each of these meetings is open to anyone from any of our parishes.  Come and discover some of the richness of the new wordings in the mass and reasons for these changes.
