Mass at 4:30 p.m. After Mass in Kolbe Hall games, crafts & lunch. Families please register at the doors of Church. Come dressed as your favorite Biblical character, saint, pope, bishop, shepherd/sheep or even the donkey Jesus rode on. No monster characters or weapons, please. Questions? F .R.O.G.G.'s MISSION PROJECT - The F
.R.O.G.G.'s
(Forever Rely On God's Grace), the Holy Cross youth group, plans a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in March. As part of their bonding with the less fortunate in the Dominican Republic, the youth group will be collecting school supplies (regular notebooks, pencils, pens, decorated notebooks, Lisa Frank items), fun little trinkets, Tylenol, and vitamins (C, D and A capsules). Donations can be brought to church on the weekends of Oct. 19 & 26 and placed in the box by the University Avenue entrance. The donations win be sent to the needy in the Dominican Republic. CHRISTMAS WREATHS FOR SALE - The Holy Cross
Educational Task Force will be taking orders for Christmas Wreaths. These Minnesota Balsam Fir wreaths are 25" and decorated with pine cones, jingle bells and trimmed with a gold backed red velvet bow. Each wreath will come in a decorative plastic bag, great for gift giving. The cost is $12.50 each. Please call Cindee at 612-789-5686 (evenings) to order your wreath, or you can drop your order with payment in the collection basket. Orders due by October 26. Delivery will be after 8:00 and 10:00 AM Masses on Sunday, November 16, 2003. |

This past week we had Douglas Wood,
author of Old Turtle, come to our library
and read to the fifth graders from his new book Old Testament and the Broken
Trust. We were very privileged to have Mr. Wood at the school. Each fifth
grader received a personally signed book.
Date change: St. Clement's Pancake Breakfast will be Sunday, Nov. 2, 8:00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m; $4.00 per adult and $2.00 per child. Please join us because the
proceeds go to the school.

THE EXCHANGE CLUB OF EAST MINNEAPOLIS will hold it's thirty-seventh annual
Pancake Breakfast Sunday, October 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross.
The menu includes pancakes, sausages, juice, coffee and milk. Cost is $5.00 for
adults and $3.00 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the
door. Proceeds benefit East Minneapolis Youth Programs. |
DIACONATE VOCATIONAL EVENING - The
Center for Diaconate is conducting a Diaconate Vocational Evening October 28. At
this time of the year we offer various meetings to offer information on the
Vocation of Deacon. If you know of someone who you feel should explore this
vocation, please share your thoughts with them and ask them to call our office
at 651-251-7722. We will send them an information packet and an invitation to
one of our Diaconate Vocations Evenings. |
