WORLD MISSION SUNDAY COLLECTION - Today, in every parish around the world, a collection is being taken up for Catholic missions and young Churches in over 1150 dioceses.  Your contribution today will go towards helping teachers and catechists to teach the faith in urban centers and remote villages.  You will help to build churches and chapels in mission stations for people to worship, hear God’s word and receive sacraments.  We will help in the effort to raise up and train new leaders who will minister in their own language.  Your financial gift will go to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith which is a worldwide Catholic network of mission cooperation to enable the Gospel of Jesus Christ to reach to the ends of the earth.  Thank you for joining in this central work of the Church!
Text Box: MESSAGE FROM FATHER JENSON “Whoever among you wishes to be first will be your servant.” These words from our Gospel this Sunday remind us to set our course by following the example of Jesus, who came to serve, not to be served. Pride is something that can disqualify us from much merit in the eyes of God because in acting pridefully, a person sets themselves up as a little god who expects others to act toward them as if they were like god in some way. Being humble is hard, allowing pride to act through us without restraint can be easy at times. Heaven awaits those who strive to grow strong in their faith. Keys to the Future: This Monday, Oct.19th is the Keys to the Future Youth Fundraiser at Jax Café benefiting the youth of our neighborhood whose families desire to give them a solid academic and faith foundation for success both in this world and the next, and who need help to be able to do so. Drop in anytime from 5:00-8:00 PM. The appetizers and beverages will be scrumptious, and the cause is worthy, being a key to unlock the future for our kids by helping with this effort for Northeast Catholic School, Pope John Paul II. ATTENTION BOYS, GRADE 3 AND OLDER - Are you interested in serving Mass as an Altar Server?  How great is it to be so close to Our Lord as you serve at Mass and other devotions.  Come and join our “super” servers.  If you are interested, call Sister Benita, probably in the evenings at 612-789-9168.
