FAMILY HOLY HOUR - Join other families from our diocese for a Family Holy Hour TODAY, Sunday, October 11, at Holy Cross.  Father Joseph Atadana, from the Tribunal of the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis, will lead the Holy Hour - a special afternoon of music, prayer, Adoration, Benediction and reflection.  Confessions start at 2:15 PM and Adoration at 3:00 PM.  Bring a snack to share!  Families should plan to enjoy fellowship in Kolbe Hall after prayer.

Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

Our Gospel this Sunday speaks of the difficulty of putting material things into proper perspective in our lives. Having many things, whether one is rich as we think of a rich person today or simply living a comfortable life as we expect to today, can disorient our outlook on life. Jesus is drawing our attention to the reality that living with a focus only on taking care of ourselves financially can impede our ability to keep a focus on the rest of our lives when we leave this world. Our life has two parts, here, and hereafter. Wisdom is recognizing and acting with the whole of our lives in mind. Keeping our relationship with God as a priority as we strive to take care of ourselves while in this world, is the ticket to ensuring that the second and much longer portion of our lives is blessed and far more rewarding than anything we achieve for ourselves here and now because we have achieved salvation and are heaven with God.

LIVING ROSARY - The English Altar & Rosary Guild invites you to join them in Church for a Living Rosary on Monday, October 12 at 7:00 PM.  All are invited to participate.

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY - Next Sunday, Pope Benedict XVI calls every Catholic in the world to celebrate our vocation to be a missionary.  It’s World Mission Sunday!  As Catholics around the world - here at home and in the Missions - gather at the Eucharist around the table of the Lord, we are to pray for the Church’s worldwide missionary work.  We pray for those awaiting the “Good News” of our Lord’s great love for us and for the missionaries who offer the poor and suffering the light of Christ.  And we are to offer financial help through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands.
