PAINTING OF THE SANCTUARY

There continues to be questions about what is going on in church with the scaffolding and well as particulars about the scope of the work. Below is a brief summary:

1. The sanctuary is being redecorated/repainted. The goal is to restore the dome to the way it was prior to the 1979 painting. This means the primary color will be blue with scroll work.
2. The angels will remain as you see them with some cleaning and touch-up work.
3. The project will take about 8 weeks and the goal is to be finished around December 1st.
4. The project is being funded by money left to Holy Cross in a Will Bequest.
5. Additional lighting, new sanctuary furniture and some repair work on the organ will also be done as budget allows.

THIRD ANNUAL HOLY CROSS All SAINTS PARTY - Sign up at all the entrance of the church for the All Saints Party on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite biblical character, saint, pope, bishop, shepherd/sheep, or even the donkey Jesus rode on. No monster characters or weapons please. Events include Faith Formation, Litany of Saints, "Parade of Saints", potluck dinner and much more. We ask each family to bring one bag of candy and a large salad, casserole, or appetizer for the potluck dinner. Beverage and desserts provided. SUNDAY SCHOOL IS BACK beginning this weekend. beginning this weekend. We will care for babies and pre-schoolers during the 10:00 a.m. Mass. All interested families are encouraged to sign up. THE EXCHANGE CLUB of East Minneapolis will hold it's 38th Annual Pancake Breakfast Sunday, October 16th, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Holy Cross Kolbe Center. Menu includes pancakes, sausages, juice, coffee & milk. Cost is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children under 12. Proceeds benefit East Minneapolis Youth Programs.
