Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

The first reading and the Gospel today clearly focus on the bond between husband and wife. The mutuality that is to be present in Christian marriage has not always been clearly expressed down through the ages.

Today, the Catechism of the Catholic Church makes explicit what sometimes has been obscured. In speaking of a husband and wife, it states “their mutual love becomes an image of the absolute and unfailing love with which God loves (hu) man (ity)” (CCC,#1604).

Mutuality implies equal respect and a life-giving exchange of love. Neither spouse lords it over the other. Rather, together they form a communion of life. It’s a lofty goal, one that takes a lifetime to attain.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

In today’s Gospel JESUS states, “Let the children come to me.  Whoever does not accept the kingdom of GOD like a child will not enter it.”

By prayer and contemplating the face of the risen CHRIST, we will learn to live as “children of the light and children of the day.” (1 Th 5:5)

Visit the Adoration Chapel.  For information, call 612-605-2258 or 612-781-4806.  Thank you.

Please remember Holy Cross Parish in your Will.

LIVING ROSARY - The English Altar and Rosary Guild invites you to join them in Kolbe Center for a Living Rosary on Monday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m.  All are invited and welcome to participate.

REMINDER TO ENGLISH ALTAR AND ROSARY GUILD MEMBERS - Please bring your unwrapped raffle prize or prizes for the style show and luncheon to the Monday, October 9 meeting.  Rose 109 will provide refreshments this month.

BELL TOWER INTERIOR - Soon some over due work will be started on the interior of the bell tower.  This work was put off a number of years ago in order to devote more resources to the outside bell tower.  It is time to tuck point the inside brickwork, replace any loose or deteriorated brick, clean the interior walls and water proof all surfaces.  This work will be done by Thanksgiving and will be paid from our savings.
