ALL SAINTS PARTY - Mark your calendar to attend the Holy Cross “All Saints Party” on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-8:30 PM in Kolbe Hall.  Event includes: children’s “Parade of Saints”, faith formation, potluck dinner, games, crafts and much more.  Each family is asked to bring one large potluck item and one bag of candy (no hard candy).  Back by popular demand - we are asking each child to bring one non-perishable food item that will be given to the needy.

H0LY CROSS BIBLE STUDY - Step Three in Jeff Cavins’ The Great Adventure Bible Study Program, Adventures in Acts: the Spread of the Kingdom, builds on The Bible Timeline and Adventures in Matthew by showing how Christ’s Kingdom on earth is empowered to carry out his work in the world.  The book of Acts shows the Church, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, teaching, preaching, healing, and restoring outcasts in the same way that Jesus did on earth.  The Acts provide the  framework for understanding the rest of the New Testament.  A sign-up sheet is included with this bulletin.

COFFEE & DONUT SUNDAY - Coffee & Donut Sunday will be next Sunday, October 11th after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center. This is a great opportunity to stop and visit with fellow parishioners.  Please join us.

ANTIQUE APPRAISAL -  Holy Cross will again be sponsoring an Antique Appraisal on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Holy Cross Church Kolbe Center, 17^th Avenue and 4^th Street N.E., Minneapolis.   10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  $5.00 for 3 items. $1.00 each additional item.  Birkeland & Associates - Professional Appraisers.  Information call 612-789-7238.

BAKE SALE - The Polish Rosary Society will host a Bake Sale and Raffle next weekend, October 10 after the 4:30 Mass and Sunday, October 11 after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center.  Donations from parishioners will be greatly appreciated and may be brought to Kolbe Center after noon on Saturday, October 10.

FALL FESTIVAL - Holy Name Fall Festival on Sunday, October 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events include: Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon; Booths and Kids’ Games, Face Painter, Silent Auction, Raffle, Beer Garden, Country Store, and much more. Holy Name is located at 3637 - 11th Avenue South, Minneapolis.

STEWARDSHIP CONFERENCE - The 2009 Archdiocesan Stewardship Conference "Stewardship:  A Way of Life" Saturday, October 10, 2009 Church of St. John the Baptist, New Brighton 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM. Registration deadline is October 5, 2009.

CHURCH BREAKFAST - St. Charles Borromeo, Pancake/Egg/Sausage Breakfast, October 11  8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Doran Hall located at 2739 Stinson Blvd., N.E.   Adults $6, 12 and under $4, Children under 3 are free. Ticket sales at the door.  Bring family and friends, we'll see you after Mass!

WIGILIA AT JAX WITH POLANIE CLUB - The Polanie Club of Minneapolis and St. Paul wishes to share Poland’s most beloved holiday celebration by hosting a traditional Christmas Eve dinner, Polish Wigila on Sunday, December 6, 2009, 6:00 PM at Jax Café, 1928 University Ave. N.E.  The cost for this non-profit event is $35 per person including tax and gratuity. RUMMAGE SALE - The St. Cyril’s Ladies Guild is sponsoring a Rummage Sale, in the church basement, 13th and 2nd St. N.E. Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM,  Thursday, Oct. 15 from 9:00  AM to 5:00 PM and Friday, Oct. 16 $2.00 Bag Day from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.  Furniture, electronics, tools, antiques, collectibles.  Donations accepted Oct. 8 to 14 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Leave by elevator door - north side of church.  Handicap accessible.
