PROCESS UPDATE

 

Leading up to the Strategic Plan announcement weekend, the Archdiocese is offering some explanatory information related to the changes which will be announced on October 16 and 17.

 

What is a parish merger?  A parish merger is the result of two or more parish communities merging into one community with one pastor.  In each merging relationship there is one parish designated as a receiving parish.  The other parish(es) in the merging relationship are designated as merging parish(es).  The assets and liabilities of merging parish(es) are incorporated into the receiving parish.  This means, among other things, that the receiving parish will acquire the church building(s) of any merging parish(es).

 

A parish cluster is when two or more parishes share a pastor but retain their parish status and basic organizational structure. Some clustered parishes may also share some staff and programming. Before implementation of the changes which will be announced under the strategic plan, 25 percent of parishes in the Archdioceses are already in a cluster arrangement.

ALL SAINTS PARTY - Mark your calendars now to attend the Holy Cross All Saints Party on Saturday, October 30 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM in Kolbe Hall.  Please sign up for this free event at all the entrances to the Church next weekend.  Event includes: children’s “Parade of Saints” (dress as your favorite saint), faith formation, potluck dinner, games, crafts and more.  Each family is asked to bring one large potluck item and one bag of candy (no hard candy).  Back by popular demand - we are asking each child to bring one non-perishable food item that will be given to the needy.

BAKE SALE - The Polish Rosary Society will host a Bake Sale and Raffle next weekend October 9-10 after 4:30 Mass and Sunday after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center.  Donations from parishioners will be greatly appreciated and may be brought to Kolbe Center after noon on Saturday, October 9.

COFFEE & DONUT SUNDAY - Coffee & Donut Sunday will be next Sunday, October 10th after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center.  This is a great opportunity to stop and visit with fellow parishioners.  Please join us.

OLAN MILLS - This week Olan Mills begins taking photos for our new pictorial directory.  Photos will be taken in the lower level of the school October 4 thru 9 and October 11 & 12.
