· Society of Christ 25th Anniversary Mass at 11:30 a.m. with celebration after Mass in Kolbe.

 

NEXT WEEKEND Holy Cross we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Society of Christ at our parish.  On Sunday, October 8th at our 11:30 Mass the solemn Eucharist will be celebrated.  After Mass there will be a banquet in Kolbe Hall.  Banquet tickets are available in the Parish Office.  Cost is $35.00.  All are invited.

“HAPPENINGS” BOOKS - The Educational Task Force is selling “Happenings” books for $30 each.  The books contain many discounts on gas, car washes, entertainment, restaurants, etc.  Contact Dennis at 612-788-4209 or the Parish Office weekdays to order a book. 

COFFEE AND DONUT SUNDAY will be Sunday, October 15th after all morning Masses.  We are in need of people to help host the Coffee and Donut Sunday in October.  We provide all the supplies - you serve..  If you can help, call the Parish Office weekdays at 612-789-7238.

SAINT FRANCIS GUILD is an organization of men and women that benefits the Sisters of St. Francis in Sylvania, Ohio.  We invite you to come and join us for a fun afternoon of bingo, raffles, prizes, fun and friendship on Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Kolbe Center.

SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL GERMAN DAY - Church of St. Boniface, 629 Second St. N.E. on Sunday, Oct. 8.  Polka Mass at 10:00 AM with Dick Macko Orchestra.  Authentic German Dinner following from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Adults $10, children (12 & under) $4.  Take-outs are available.  Information call John 763-572-2377.

FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS will be held at Holy Cross on Saturday, October 7th at 7:45 a.m. with praying of the first three decades of the Rosary and Mass at 8:00 a.m.  After Mass our devotions will continue with praying of the final two decades of the Rosary, prayer and meditation.  All are welcome to participate.

THE FALL FESTIVAL WRAP UP MEETING will be Tuesday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Room.  Come to the meeting and share the highlights and future needs of planning the Festival.

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC?  Invite them to attend RCIA & Adult Confirmation/Inquiry classes!  Classes will be held each Monday beginning October 23rd from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Room at River Village, 2919 Randolph Street N.E.  For more information, please call Michael or Margery Powers at 612-788-6140 or email them at powersm1@archspm.org.  These classes are for adults who have never been baptized, who have been baptized and not yet confirmed, or anyone who might be interested in learning more about the Catholic faith.

HOLY CROSS PARISH ACTIVITIES is sponsoring a trip to see Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” on Wed.,  December 20 at the Ordway Theatre in St. Paul.  Also included will be “Snow Globes A-Glow” at Rice Park.    Only 8 more tickets available.  Cost for bus and show is $75.00 per person.  Pre-ordered tickets can now be paid for.  Make check payable to “Holy Cross Parish Activities” and put it in the collection basket or mail it to the Rectory.

HOLY FAMILY CHURCH in Silver Lake, Minnesota is having their Annual Dinner and Bazaar TODAY, Oct. 1.  A Roast Beef and Chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church dining hall.  Adults $7.75 and  children $4.50.   All are welcome.
